Long time no chat, how are you? We over here at GMSM having been working hard all winter, and now into “spring”, to bring you another exciting season of music, theatre, magic, and much more! In the coming weeks we will be adding new events and shows to this page so keep an eye here at gmsm.ca and our Facebook page.
For now we’ll give you a small synopsis of what to expect.
Once again this year Gros Morne Summer Music will present lots of traditional music in both Corner Brook and Woody Point by artists from all across the province. We are proud to announce that the west coast’s very own Hardtack are back by popular demand to perform a re-working of their hit show from last summer “A Tribute to Ron Hynes and Stan Rogers” as well as two brand new shows paying tribute to singer-songwriters and country music legends of the past 50 years!
Camilo the Magician makes his return to Newfoundland this summer with another magic camp and short run of shows. GMSM is thrilled to have him back after the amazing work he did with his students last year and his own mesmerizing stage show.
We’ve also got lots of historical theatre productions this year with the return of “The White Feather of Woody Point” up at St. Pat’s and “Postcards from the Train” at the Historic Train Museum in Corner Brook. Both of these shows provide a great interactive way of learning the history of our little slice of the province. Plus! a brand new show being written by our very own Ian Locke called “The Reele and Trewe History of Newfoundland” which puts a rowdy and raucous spin on Newfoundland and Labrador history.
Stay tuned for many more exciting announcements including what our big feature show in Corner Brook will be this year!!
Hope to see you soon,
